Interactive Teaching

Faculty members are the driving forces of universities. They deliver comprehensive knowledge and required training for students. Faculty development is therefore indispensable to help ensure consistent quality in the classroom, which leads to happy students who get the most out of their learning.

While faculty development (FD) is a term commonly used in higher education, it is indeed a similar term for staff development (SD) and professional development (PD), in settings that pertain to educators. To assist educators in developing pedagogical skills, interactive teaching is selected as the theme of this PD course. Interactive learning is associated with many benefits for students. It encompasses all methods of purposeful student engagement with material aided by students interacting with others (instructor or peers) and themselves.

This course covers knowledge and skill related to interactive teaching, as well as dialogues with practitioners. It is also our only MOOC course which face-to-face seminars and activities are held from time to time to gather worldwide learners together and communicate. Through all these experiences, it is hoped that one will rethink the meaning of teaching and learning. After all, we are all learning to teach and teaching to learn.
